  • This is a high-concentration vitamin C serum. I've kept using it to prevent dark spots. I've tried a lot of vitamin C serums, but I like the quality of this one and how well it absorbs. It has an oily texture, but it's also nice how it sinks right in. I can definitely tell that it's effective at preventing dark spots. As for making them lighter... it doesn't seem like it has... But I think it does a really good job of preventing dark spots while I'm using it. It's the best product for dark spot prevention. Honestly, I also think the cheaper, more affordable Melano CC might be good enough. I think consistency is the most important thing, and Obagi 25 is a little too expensive for me, so I'm not sure if I can keep using it... If I could afford to keep using it, Obagi 25 would be the best, though. Also, this isn't limited to Obagi 25 and applies to vitamin C products in general, but the higher the concentration, the more residue it leaves on your skin if you don't properly wash it off. It's clear when you apply it, but after a few hours it oxidizes and turns a yellowish to pinkish color. Quite a bit of that color stays behind if you don't remove it thoroughly with cleanser... Since Obagi 25 has a high concentration, the color after applying it bothered me quite a bit. It also stains the collars of white clothes, so I thought that's something you need to be careful about... As far as effectiveness goes, it's an incredibly excellent and reliable serum, but it seems like it needs to be handled with care.
