  I was concerned about my foundation breaking up around my nose, so I bought this after seeing a Korean makeup artist recommend it. When I looked in the mirror after being out and about in the heat, the foundation around my nose had creased much less. But more than that, I was amazed that the blush color, which usually disappeared as soon as I went outside, hadn’t faded at all.

  Silk Blue 🩵 I was curious because I had this image of Japanese idols using it, so I bought it. The blue primer cancels out yellow dullness and leaves my skin looking clear and radiant! Rather than giving a super intense tone-up, it’s more on the natural side? It spreads well and doesn’t feel heavy, so it’s less likely to go patchy—I love it!

  Long-Lasting Hydrating Veil

  Among Clé de Peau Beauté’s primers, this one is specifically designed to prevent makeup from breaking down. Usually, primers are either smooth but drying, or moisturizing but sticky, but this one feels smooth while still being hydrating, so the foundation I apply afterward doesn’t get dry or sticky. It does crease a little when I sweat, naturally, but the creased areas don’t set hard and keep their smooth feel, so even if I blend them out carelessly, they quickly return to a clean, even finish—in other words, it breaks down beautifully and is extremely easy to touch up. For anyone who thinks, “Using a highly moisturizing foundation or primer when it’s not dry out sounds like it’ll turn into a goopy mess, and I just can’t be bothered…” this primer has the perfect balance of smoothness and hydration! This is the primer that has held up the best out of all the ones I’ve used.

  This is my favorite makeup primer—I’ve repurchased it so many times! It feels moisturizing and spreads easily, and I love how it naturally brightens my complexion. The coverage is on the lighter side, but it leaves a natural finish that makes it look like I’ve always had beautiful skin. I also love the elegant fragrance. It’s an easy-to-use primer when dryness is a concern, and another thing I like is that it works well with any foundation.
