About PEG-40/PPG-8 Methylaminopropyl/Hydroxypropyl Dimethicone Copolymer
PEG-40/PPG-8 Methylaminopropyl/Hydroxypropyl Dimethicone Copolymer is a copolymer obtained by reacting a PEG-40/PPG-8 polymer with terminal methylaminopropyl substitution and Bis-Glycidoxypropyl Dimethicone.[1] The number 40 indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added. Within the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce tangling and rough feel in hair for smoother grooming.[2]
