About Lycopene
Lycopene is a carotenoid pigment with a characteristic color produced by its multiple linked double bonds.[1] The oxidative stability of a finished product containing Lycopene is affected not only by the formulation concentration but also by the other ingredients used, the packaging method, and storage conditions involving exposure to light and air. In cosmetics, it is used to slow the oxidation of formulation ingredients caused by reaction with oxygen.[3] In Europe, it may be used to color cosmetics.[2]
