Nano RecipeTranexamic Acid 10%I bought this because it was getting a lot of buzz on Qoo10, and I thought it was great that I could add the ingredient to the toners and creams I already own! I bought it to care for dark spots, but I didn't see any noticeable improvement in them. It's easy to use, so I think it might be good for prevention!

MediCubeKojic Acid Turmeric Niacinamide SerumI was using it hoping it would help with dullness. The serum is yellow, so it's hard to use in the morning. When I apply it at night and wipe it off with a toner pad in the morning, the pad turns yellow—that's how strong the color is. I don't like that it leaves color behind, so I probably won't repurchase.

COSRXAdvanced The Vitamin C 23 SerumThis is my third bottle. Since they reformulated it, that distinctive canned tuna smell is gone👏 It feels pretty oily and sticky, so I only use it at night. It tingles every time. I feel like my skin looks brighter, but I can't really tell if it's doing anything for my pores. I keep repurchasing it because it's one of the more affordable high-concentration vitamin C serums.

COSRXThe Alpha-Arbutin 2 Discoloration Care SerumI use this around my period or when I get acne, and since I haven't gotten any noticeable acne scars since I started using it, I wonder if that's thanks to this? It seems to work on dark spots, freckles, and skin clarity too, but I don't use it every day, so I can't really say. Also, I use it specifically for its soothing effect, so it's not particularly moisturizing or anything. I think it's good to apply it to my skin as a precaution when my skin is acting up, then get moisture from other skincare products. I'll keep counting on its soothing effect!

COSRXThe Vitamin C 13 SerumI had been using COSRX C23 for a while, but this one is cheaper, so I thought I'd give C13 a try and see if it worked... and bought this one for now. It didn't feel very oily, and the stickiness wasn't enough to bother me. There were some days when it tingled a little, but the irritation was never so strong that I couldn't use it. The canned tuna smell hasn't bothered me since the reformulation either! It was lightweight and easy to use in the morning too. There were times when my dullness seemed to fade and my skin looked brighter, but I didn't notice anything like my pores getting smaller or less noticeable.

OrbisAdvanced Brightening SerumThis is a brightening serum I used and loved for about 5 years! I started using it when I began noticing dark spots, and although I sometimes strayed and tried other brightening serums along the way, I ended up using this one for a long time I used it for about 5 years, from age 33 to 38, and really felt like it kept my dark spots from getting worse. Rather than caring for existing dark spots, I used it because I felt like “I don’t want to get any more dark spots and want to keep preventing them.” It’s 4,950 yen for 36 mL. In my case, one bottle lasted about 1.5 months, so it came to around 3,300 yen per month. The relatively affordable price for a brightening serum was another reason I was able to keep using it for so long. I tried other products here and there, but this was ultimately a favorite that I kept using for about 5 years. I recommend it for preventive care if you don’t have many dark spots yet, or for anyone who wants to keep up with brightening care while prioritizing value for money! I wanted to take my skincare more seriously, so I doubled my budget and now use a different brightening serum.

COSRXThe Alpha-Arbutin 2 Discoloration Care SerumI tried it because it seemed like it might help with melasma and skin redness, but after one bottle, I couldn't really tell if it had any effect. In a good way, it barely feels like anything on the skin, so I think it works fine slotted into a routine like toner → this → other serums. It does feel a little sticky, but not enough to really bother me. It didn't irritate my skin, so it's not that it doesn't agree with me, but I guess I won't know unless I keep using it a little longer... I'd seen a lot of promos that made it seem like it would work quickly, so it was a bit of a letdown. There are other products I'm interested in too, so I'm not considering repurchasing for now.

AstaliftWhite Jelly AquarystaI feel like Astalift White Jelly makes my skin look plumper! When I apply this right after washing my face, I feel like the toner I use afterward absorbs better too! Whenever I use Astalift, my skin behaves so much better.

HAKUMelanofocus EVI've been using it for a long time because I want to lighten my skin. It feels cool when I apply it to my skin. It doesn't fade dark spots or anything, so I apply it every night to prevent them ◎ I can't really say it definitely works! so if I find a good alternative, I might switch to that.

ObagiNeo C25 Vitamin C SerumThis is a high-concentration vitamin C serum. I've kept using it to prevent dark spots. I've tried a lot of vitamin C serums, but I like the quality of this one and how well it absorbs. It has an oily texture, but it's also nice how it sinks right in. I can definitely tell that it's effective at preventing dark spots. As for making them lighter... it doesn't seem like it has... But I think it does a really good job of preventing dark spots while I'm using it. It's the best product for dark spot prevention. Honestly, I also think the cheaper, more affordable Melano CC might be good enough. I think consistency is the most important thing, and Obagi 25 is a little too expensive for me, so I'm not sure if I can keep using it... If I could afford to keep using it, Obagi 25 would be the best, though. Also, this isn't limited to Obagi 25 and applies to vitamin C products in general, but the higher the concentration, the more residue it leaves on your skin if you don't properly wash it off. It's clear when you apply it, but after a few hours it oxidizes and turns a yellowish to pinkish color. Quite a bit of that color stays behind if you don't remove it thoroughly with cleanser... Since Obagi 25 has a high concentration, the color after applying it bothered me quite a bit. It also stains the collars of white clothes, so I thought that's something you need to be careful about... As far as effectiveness goes, it's an incredibly excellent and reliable serum, but it seems like it needs to be handled with care.

AstaliftWhite Jelly AquarystaRecommended when you're concerned about dullness or acne. After using it consistently, I feel like I've been getting fewer little bumps. When I stopped using it for a while, my skin started looking dull, so now I keep using it. It feels like it absorbs well into my skin, and while it's not that moisturizing on its own, using this together with toner leaves my skin more moisturized than usual. It's slightly orange in color, so I use it at night rather than in the morning. It doesn't noticeably tint my skin, but when I used a sheet mask afterward, some of the color transferred onto the sheet, so I just kind of avoid using it in the morning.

HAKUMelanofocus IVI bought this because I wanted to stay consistent with my brightening care. My skin is thin and prone to redness, so I use it on days when my skin is doing well and take a break on days when it feels sensitive. I started my first bottle on March 12 and finished it on August 31. I didn't use it every morning and night, so in my case, it lasted about five and a half months. The texture is fresh and glides smoothly over the skin. It doesn't feel very sticky after it absorbs, so it's also easy to use before makeup in the morning. I sometimes use it together with POLA White Shot, and I also like that it doesn't feel too heavy. The full-size bottle costs 11,000 yen, so honestly, I thought it was expensive when I bought it. But with the way I use it, one bottle lasted about five and a half months, so it actually works out to around 2,000 yen a month. It was easier to keep using than I expected. I'm also happy that refills are available. Instead of transferring the contents, you replace the entire inner container, so it was easy. After I finished it, the pouch inside had shriveled down really small, and I like being able to see that I really used every last bit! I'm now on my second bottle and have been repurchasing the refill. When I bought mine, there was a campaign where you could receive a special 20 g size if you purchased two eligible HAKU products and applied using the product barcodes. I was already planning to keep using it, so I bought two at once and applied, and it arrived at my home later as promised. The regular size is 45 g, so I was happy that 20 g was a generous amount that I could get plenty of use out of! It's not cheap, but it feels good to use and is easy to work into my routine at my own pace while keeping an eye on how my skin is doing, so for now, it's a brightening serum I want to continue using.

manyoGalactomy Niacin EssenceThe right way to use this is generously. If you apply about as much as you would toner right after washing your face, it smooths out your skin texture and makes you less prone to skin issues. You'll notice when you stop using it. It stings a little when your skin is irritated or acting up, so in that case it's best to use an appropriate amount after toner.

COSRXAdvanced The Vitamin C 23 SerumThis is my second bottle. It was reformulated once, and I don't really notice the distinctive smell that used to bother me anymore. Since it's a vitamin serum, it can sometimes feel a little tingly and irritating depending on the condition of your skin. Among vitamin C derivative serums, it's a good value and I recommend it. When I use it, my pores feel tighter. I recommend using it in the morning. It took me about three months to finish one bottle, but starting around the second month, I gradually began to notice the color changing due to oxidation. It seems best to use a generous amount and finish it as soon as possible.

SKIN1004Madagascar Centella Tone Brightening Capsule AmpouleI like SKIN1004 products, so I bought this thinking I'd try a different ampoule for a change. I can't really tell whether the brightening effect is working or not. The hydration is so-so, and it has white capsules? in it, but even when I carefully blend it in, they sometimes remain around the edges of my face. There are plenty of other ampoules out there for toning care, so my impression is that I probably wouldn't go out of my way to choose this one... That said, it doesn't cause any irritation, so it's a safe enough option to use.

PolaWhite Shot SXS NAfter giving birth, I couldn't get any cosmetic treatments because I'm breastfeeding, and the medications I can use are limited, so I bought this as a last resort. I'm concerned about my acne scars and apply a thick layer every night, but even after using it for about three months now, they still haven't faded much. Also, the cream is very rich, and when I apply it with the pad of my finger, quite a lot of it sticks to my finger too, which feels like such a waste... I still haven't finished the first tube, but since I haven't seen any results in the short term, I'm starting to feel like maybe I'd be better off spending this much money on cosmetic treatments?

PolaWhite Shot SXS NI bought this because I was concerned about the dark spots on my cheeks. I've now finished two tubes and started my third! It's a pretty thick cream, and the texture makes it easy to target specific dark spots rather than spreading it all over your face. I use it as a spot treatment on the dark spots on both cheeks, morning and night. I use HAKU brightening serum all over my face, so I'm currently using HAKU + White Shot together. I use HAKU all over and White Shot only on the dark spots I'm especially concerned about. I started using it on 1/10 and finished my second tube on 8/27. At this rate, one tube lasts around 100 days. It's pricey at $13,200, but in my case that works out to around $4,000 a month, so it lasted longer than I expected. What made me happiest after continuing to use it was that when I compared photos, the small dark spots I'd been concerned about looked lighter than before! Personally, I really feel like it's working. The larger dark spots, on the other hand, are still stubborn...! And at the end, I wondered, "Could there still be some left inside?" so I cut open the container, and quite a lot came out😂 Even when I thought I'd used it all up, there was still some left inside, so I recommend cutting it open at the end. It's expensive, but the thick cream is easy to apply exactly where you want it, and it lasts a really long time if you use it as a spot treatment. I could also see a difference when comparing photos, so I'll keep using it. I'm planning to buy a fourth tube too.

NumbuzinNo.5 Glutathione TXA Advanced Dark Spot Ampoule ConcentrateI've repurchased this more than 5 times. It's a serum with 10% tranexamic acid + glutathione. The unusual first step is dissolving the included glutathione powder into the tranexamic acid solution. That keeps it fresh, and I like that I can use it without worrying about oxidation. According to the official guidance, it seems ideal to use it up within 2 weeks. There's only 10 ml of liquid, so it's gone in no time.. It has a very watery texture, so it absorbs really well and leaves my skin feeling plump. It can feel a little too plump and sticky, but it settles in over time, so it doesn't bother me that much. I've been using it regularly for about a year because I feel like it's effective at preventing melasma. It also seems to brighten dullness, and I do feel like it's working somehow. Since it has 10% tranexamic acid, it's a little on the irritating side, but you don't get much product and it's affordably priced, so I think it's perfect for anyone who wants to try brightening with tranexamic acid. Personally, there have been a lot of high-concentration tranexamic acid products coming out lately, so I think I'll try those next and eventually settle on one. Also, the cap comes off very easily, so if you put it in a pouch or something, you have to handle it very carefully or the cap could come off and the liquid could leak out.. I'd appreciate it if it had a screw cap instead..

COSRXThe Alpha-Arbutin 2 Discoloration Care SerumI tried using this because I wanted my skin to look more radiant. The serum is so runny that it drips down when you put it on your skin, but as you work it in, it leaves a slightly tacky finish. I haven't noticed a definite improvement in radiance, but I like how it feels, and my skin somehow seems to be in better condition the next day, so I keep repurchasing it.

Re:denceTone & Spot Corrector AmpouleI’ve been consistently using the Re:dence Tone & Spot Corrector Ampoule because I was concerned about dark spots and acne marks. The formula is lightweight and moisturizing, so it was great for daily use, and I liked how it absorbed into my skin with a fresh, non-sticky finish. It was especially good for focusing on areas where dark spots were a concern, and the generous size meant I could apply it generously without worrying! I’m going to keep using it to care for both my dull skin tone and dark spot marks✨
