Zinc Undecylenoyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein is the zinc salt of the condensation product of undecylenic acid chloride and hydrolyzed wheat protein.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help keep emulsions of water and oil from separating, to smooth the hair by reducing tangling and roughness, and to leave the skin’s surface feeling soft and smooth.[3] In Europe, it may be used at up to 1% based on the zinc content of the finished product.[2]
