About Zinc Sulfate

Zinc sulfate is an inorganic salt.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to inhibit microbial growth, help reduce plaque buildup on tooth surfaces, and provide a temporarily tightening, astringent feel on the skin or scalp.[4] It is also used to help keep the teeth and mouth clean and fresh.[4] In Europe, it may be used at up to 1% based on the zinc content of the finished product.[2] It is described as colorless crystals, so the phase in which it dissolves should be checked first in water and oil, then it should be dissolved or dispersed in the appropriate phase to help create a uniform formulation.[3]
