About Zinc S-Alloferon-1
Zinc S-Alloferon-1 is the zinc salt of a single-chain protein synthesized to be identical to alloferon-1 from the blow fly Lucilia sericata.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth, and to protect the skin from external factors.[3] The protein consists of 13 amino acids and may contain glycosylation and/or disulfide bonds.[1] In Europe, it may be used at up to 1% based on the zinc content of the finished product.[2]
