About Zinc Retinoate Hydroxide
Zinc Retinoate Hydroxide is a lipophilic ingredient with a retinoid structure.[1] It mixes better with oils than with water, and its properties may change when exposed to light and oxygen, so formula stability is carefully managed. Light-blocking packaging and appropriate solubilization methods are used to reduce exposure to heat and air during storage. In cosmetics, it is used to slow the oxidation of formula ingredients caused by reactions with oxygen, to reduce tangling and rough texture in hair for a smoother finish, and to leave the skin feeling soft and smooth.[1] It is also used to help protect the skin from external factors and to reduce changes to the product and formula ingredients caused by ultraviolet radiation.[1]
