About Zinc Pyrithione
Zinc Pyrithione is an aromatic zinc compound.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce the formation or visibility of scalp dandruff, manage oil-related shine and scalp and skin condition, and reduce hair tangling and roughness for a smoother finish.[4] It is also used to inhibit the growth of microorganisms in products and delay deterioration during storage.[4] It cannot be used in cosmetics in Europe.[2] It is described as a beige granule, so checking first whether it dissolves in water or oil and then dissolving or dispersing it in the appropriate phase helps create a uniform formula.[3]
