About Zinc Coceth Sulfate

Zinc Coceth Sulfate is the zinc salt of sulfated ethoxylated coconut alcohol.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities be washed away with water, to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, it may be used at up to 1% based on the zinc content of the finished product.[2]
