About Violacein

Violacein is a colorant used to add color to products or hair.[1] The oxidative stability of finished products containing violacein is affected not only by the concentration but also by the ingredients used with it, the packaging method, and storage conditions involving exposure to light and air. In cosmetics, it is used to inhibit microbial growth, slow the oxidation of formula ingredients caused by reactions with oxygen, and add color to the product or application area.[2]
