About Vinyldimethicone
Vinyldimethicone is a derivative of dimethicone in which several methyl groups have been replaced with vinyl groups.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to control the formulation’s viscosity and flow.[2] Vinyl groups are found at the ends of siloxane chains or as branches from siloxane chains.[1] It primarily has the following structure, where R is a methyl or vinyl group and at least one vinyl group is present.[1]
