About Undecylenamidopropyl Betaine

Undecylenamidopropyl Betaine is a zwitterion (inner salt).[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static that causes hair strands to lift or cling together, to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, and to increase the amount of foam and help it resist collapsing.[2] It is also used to reduce hair tangling and roughness for smoother grooming, to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth, and to lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2] It is used to adjust the viscosity and flow of the formula.[2]
