About Turpentine

Turpentine is a mixture of terpene hydrocarbons obtained from various species of the genus Pinus.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to add fragrance to a product or adjust the characteristic odor of raw materials.[3] In Korea, it cannot be used in cosmetics when it corresponds to turpentine gum (Pinus species) with a peroxide value exceeding 10 mmol/L.[2]
