About Tromethamine

Tromethamine is an aliphatic compound.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to buffer the formula so its acidity does not change rapidly and to keep the characteristic odor or taste of an ingredient from being overly noticeable.[3] In Europe, the secondary amine content of finished products is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and the nitrosamine content must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
