About Trisodium Sulfosuccinate

Trisodium Sulfosuccinate is an ester containing parts derived from an acid and an alcohol.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to buffer formulations so their acidity does not change abruptly, bind metal ions to reduce their effects on color, fragrance, and formulation stability, and help ingredients that do not dissolve well in water disperse more evenly in the water phase.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and disperse evenly.[2]
