About Tripeptide-66
Tripeptide-66 is a peptide made of amino acids linked in a short chain.[1] The number 66 at the end of the name is only an identifying number used to distinguish different peptides; it does not indicate the amount used in a formula or rank of efficacy. In cosmetics, it is used to slow the rate at which formula ingredients oxidize through reactions with oxygen, to help reduce plaque buildup on tooth surfaces, and to smooth and condition hair by reducing tangling and a rough feel.[1] It is also used to smooth and condition fingernails and toenails and to protect the skin from external factors.[1]
