About Tripalmitolein

Tripalmitolein is the triester of glycerin and palmitoleic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, replenish an oily feel to the skin or hair after cleansing, and leave the skin’s surface feeling soft and smooth.[2] It is also used to adjust the formulation’s viscosity and flow.[2]
