About Triolein PEG-6 Esters

Triolein PEG-6 Esters are products obtained by transesterification of triolein and PEG-t.[1] The number 6 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; with the same base structure, changing this number may affect water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formulation. In cosmetics, they are used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, to make emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[2] They are also used to lower surface tension so that ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
