Triisopalmitin is a triester of glycerin and a 16-carbon-chain nonaic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, to leave the skin surface soft and smooth, and to control the viscosity and flow of formulations.[2]
