About Trideceth-9
Trideceth-9 is the polyethylene glycol ether of tridecyl alcohol.[1] The number 9 at the end of the name refers to the average number of added ethylene oxide units, which changes the balance between the water-loving and oil-loving portions and creates differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and sensory feel. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
