About Trideceth-3
Trideceth-3 is the polyethylene glycol ether of tridecyl alcohol.[1] The number 3 at the end of the name refers to the average number of ethylene oxide units added, changing the balance between water-loving and oil-loving portions and creating differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and feel. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
