Trideceth-10 is a polyethylene glycol ether of tridecyl alcohol.[1] The number 10 at the end of the name refers to the average number of ethylene oxide units added. It changes the balance between water-loving and oil-loving portions, resulting in differences in cleansing and emulsifying performance and sensory feel. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
