About Tipa-Lauryl Sulfate
Tipa-Lauryl Sulfate is the triisopropanolamine salt of sulfated lauryl alcohol.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and form foam during use.[3] It is also used to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, the maximum concentration is 2.5% in leave-on products, while no separate maximum concentration is set for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
