About Tipa-Laureth Sulfate
Tipa-Laureth Sulfate is the triisopropanolamine salt of sulfated and ethoxylated lauryl alcohol.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and dirt rinse away with water, form foam during use, and lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] It primarily has the following structure. n is from 1 to 4.[1] In Europe, it is limited to a maximum of 2.5% in leave-on products, with no separate maximum concentration set for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
