About Thraustochytrium Sp. Atcc 26185 Oil
Thraustochytrium Sp. Atcc 26185 Oil is an oil obtained by culturing 26185, a type of microalgae.[1] Because it is primarily composed of fatty components obtained from the seeds of Thraustochytrium Sp. Atcc 26185, it mixes better with oil than water and is suitable for adding slip and a supple feel to skin or hair while reducing the sensation of moisture evaporating quickly. In cosmetics, it is used to slow the oxidation of formula ingredients caused by reactions with oxygen, reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, and attract moisture to the formula and skin surface to help maintain a moisturized feel.[2] It is also used to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[2]
