About Tetrahydrofurfuryl Alcohol
Tetrahydrofurfuryl Alcohol is a cyclic alcohol.[1] Depending on the molecular size and volatility of Tetrahydrofurfuryl Alcohol and the combination of fragrances formulated with it, the rate at which the scent disperses and its dry-down may vary. In cosmetics, it is used to prevent the raw materials' characteristic odor or taste from becoming overly pronounced and to dissolve other raw materials to create a uniform formulation.[3] It cannot be used in cosmetics in Europe.[2]
