About Tetradecyloctadecyl Myristate
Tetradecyloctadecyl Myristate is an ester of tetradecyloctadecanol and myristic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help ingredients in a formulation bind together and maintain its form, to help keep emulsions of water and oil from separating, and to form a thin film on the surface of the skin, hair, or nails after application.[2] It is also used to reduce light transmission so the contents appear less translucent and to leave the skin's surface feeling soft and smooth.[2]
