About Tea-Undecylenoyl Hydrolyzed Collagen

Tea-Undecylenoyl Hydrolyzed Collagen is the triethanolamine salt of the condensation product of undecylenic acid chloride and hydrolyzed collagen.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce the formation or visibility of dandruff on the scalp, reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, and help sebum and impurities rinse away with water.[3] It is also used to reduce tangling and roughness in hair for a softer, smoother finish, to leave the skin's surface feeling soft and smooth, and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, the maximum concentration is 2.5% in leave-on products, while no separate maximum concentration is specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
