About Tea-Rosinate

Tea-Rosinate is the triethanolamine salt of an acid derived from rosin.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and disperse evenly, and adjust the viscosity and flow of formulations.[3] In Europe, the maximum concentration is 2.5% in leave-on products, with no separate maximum concentration set for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
