About Tea-Polyphosphate
TEA-Polyphosphate is an ingredient obtained by reacting triethanolamine with polyphosphoric acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to bind metal ions and reduce their effects on color, fragrance, and formula stability, and to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[3] In Europe, the maximum concentration is 2.5% in leave-on products, while no separate maximum concentration is specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
