About Tea-Palmitate

TEA-Palmitate is the triethanolamine salt of palmitic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, create emulsion formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, the maximum is 2.5% in leave-on products, while no separate maximum concentration is specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
