About Tea-Palm Kernel Sarcosinate
TEA-Palm Kernel Sarcosinate is the triethanolamine salt of a substituted sarcosine derived from palm kernel acids.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static that causes hair strands to lift or cling together, help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, and form foam during use.[3] It is also used to reduce tangling and roughness to leave hair smooth and manageable, and to lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, it may be used at up to 2.5% in leave-on products; no separate maximum concentration is specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must not exceed 50 μg/kg.[2]
