About Tea-Oleoyl Hydrolyzed Collagen

Tea-Oleoyl Hydrolyzed Collagen is the triethanolamine salt of the condensation product of oleic acid chloride and hydrolyzed collagen.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, and to reduce hair tangling and rough feel for smoother grooming.[3] It is also used to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, the maximum level is 2.5% in leave-on products, with no separate maximum concentration specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no higher than 50 μg/kg.[2]
