About Tea-Lauroyl Lactylate
TEA-Lauroyl Lactylate is the triethanolamine salt of a lauric acid ester and lactyl lactylate.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to lower surface tension so that raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, it may be used at up to 2.5% in leave-on products; no separate maximum concentration is specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
