About Tea-Lauroyl Hydrolyzed Collagen

Tea-Lauroyl Hydrolyzed Collagen is the triethanolamine salt of the condensation product of hydrolyzed collagen and lauric acid chloride.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, to reduce tangling and roughness in hair for a softer, smoother finish, and to leave the skin's surface feeling soft and smooth.[3] It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, the maximum concentration is 2.5% in leave-on products, while no separate maximum concentration is specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
