About Tea-Lactate
TEA-Lactate is the triethanolamine salt of lactic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to attract moisture to formulas and the skin's surface to help maintain a moisturized feel, and to leave the skin's surface feeling soft and smooth.[3] In Europe, it may be used at up to 2.5% in leave-on products; no separate maximum concentration is set for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
