About Tea-Isostearoyl Hydrolyzed Collagen
Tea-Isostearoyl Hydrolyzed Collagen is the triethanolamine salt of the condensation product of isostearic acid chloride and hydrolyzed collagen.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and dirt rinse away with water, reduce tangling and roughness in the hair for a smoother finish, and leave the skin’s surface feeling soft and smooth.[3] It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, it is permitted up to 2.5% in leave-on products, while no separate maximum concentration is specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
