About Tea-Hydroiodide

TEA-Hydroiodide is a triethanolamine salt.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to buffer the formulation so its acidity does not change rapidly and to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[3] In Europe, a maximum of 2.5% is permitted in leave-on products, while no separate maximum concentration is specified for rinse-off products. In addition, nitrosamines must not exceed 50 μg/kg.[2]
