About Tea-Dimethicone PEG-7 Phosphate

TEA-Dimethicone PEG-7 Phosphate is the triethanolamine salt of Dimethicone PEG-7 Phosphate.[1] The number 7 in its name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. For the same base structure, changing this number can also affect water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formulation. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and lower surface tension so that ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, it is permitted up to 2.5% in leave-on products, with no separate maximum concentration specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must not exceed 50 μg/kg.[2]
