About Tea-Cocoyl Alaninate

Tea-Cocoyl Alaninate is the triethanolamine salt of the coconut fatty acid amide of alanine.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities be washed away with water, reduce tangling and roughness in hair for smoother conditioning, and lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, it may be used at up to 2.5% in leave-on products; no separate maximum concentration is specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
