About Tea-Cocamide Diacetate
TEA-Cocamide Diacetate is an amine salt.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to bind metal ions and reduce their effects on color, scent, and formula stability; to help sebum and impurities wash away with water; and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, the maximum level is 2.5% in leave-on products, while no separate maximum concentration is set for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
