About Tea-Abietoyl Hydrolyzed Collagen

TEA-Abietoyl Hydrolyzed Collagen is the triethanolamine salt of the condensation product of abietic acid chloride and hydrolyzed collagen.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, and reduce tangling and rough feel to leave hair smooth and manageable.[3] It is also used to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth, protect the skin from external factors, and reduce surface tension so that ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, the maximum concentration is 2.5% in leave-on products; no separate maximum concentration is specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
