About Tallowamine Oxide
Tallowamine Oxide is a tertiary amine oxide.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, to help sebum and impurities be washed away with water, and to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2] It is also used to increase the amount of foam and keep it from collapsing easily, to form foam during use, and to reduce tangling and rough feel in hair for smooth conditioning.[2] It helps water-insoluble ingredients disperse more evenly in the water phase, lowers surface tension so that raw materials can become wet, mix, and spread evenly, and adjusts the viscosity and flow of the formula.[2]
