About Talc

Talc is a naturally occurring, powdered hydrated magnesium silicate that sometimes contains small amounts of aluminum silicate.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to physically remove deposits from the skin or tooth surface, absorb liquids such as water or oil in a formula, and help powder ingredients flow evenly without forming lumps.[2] It is also used to increase the volume of a formula and adjust the amount of solids, reduce light transmission so the contents appear less translucent, and help protect the skin from external factors.[2]
