Sulfurized Tea-Ricinoleate is a reaction product of sulfur with the triethanolamine salt of ricinoleic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce tangling and roughness in hair, leaving it feeling smoother.[3] In Europe, a maximum of 2.5% may be used in leave-on products, while no separate maximum concentration is set for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
