About Sucrose Polybehenate

Sucrose Polybehenate is a mixture of esters of behenic acid and sucrose.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
