Sucrose Distearate is a mixture of sucrose esters of stearic acid, composed mainly of diesters.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly blended, and leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
