About Strontium Hydroxide

Strontium Hydroxide is an individual ingredient used in cosmetics.[1] The properties and feel of a finished product containing Strontium Hydroxide may vary depending on the formulation concentration, the other ingredients used together with it, the formulation's acidity, and manufacturing conditions. In cosmetics, it is used to buffer the formulation so that its acidity does not change rapidly.[1] In Europe, it may be used only to adjust the pH of depilatories, at a maximum of 3.5% based on strontium content, and the product pH must not exceed 12.7.[2]
